It presents pre-existing pieces – contrary to his earlier installations « …n’aura pas lieu » and « Speos » - fostered by a new body of work.
The second floor of the gallery is over-taken by a bestiary, which is set up in the same way as a curiosity cabinet. It thus embodies the particular world of the visual artist.
The underground floor lays out an imaginary geography with Déréliction, comprising an array of six monochromatic pieces, their figure resembling the famous “Island of the Dead” by Swiss painter Arnold Böcklin.
Finally the more pictorial sculpture Self Control is presented at the Musée de la Piscine.

EXHIBITION AMANDINE MAILLOT - « SCÈNE INTERIEURE »
du 09 Jan au 03 Feb
Exhibition « Scène intérieure » by Amandine Maillot, 2016 graduate from the Pavillon Bosio, organised at La Criée, Théâtre National de Marseille, under the kind will of Macha Makeieff, Director of the Marseille cultural establishment, and of Isabelle Lombardot, Head of the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques – Pavillon Bosio.
As she focuses on the transitory state of things, Amandine Maillot stages the quiet dialogs we weave with the Other and with the World through sculpture, video, photography and drawings.
Her work is made of poetic and fragile gestures to repair the objects of our intimate history.
After graduating with a Master degree of art in 2016 at the Pavillon Bosio from where her interest for staging stems, Amandine Maillot has achieved a yearlong research in Limoges within the KAOLIN post-graduate course of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Limoges.
This research broaches the practice of porcelain and has allowed her to dedicate a period of time to this medium, of which she is deeply fond.
That year of research started with a 3 month-long residence in China, in Jingdezhen, capital city of porcelain, in order to experiment and dive into the dynamics and know-hows of the factory-like town.
