Social security

Monaco’s students and residents benefit from their parents social care (insurance) until the age of 21.
After that age, a written request must be sent to the CCSS (Monaco State Health Service), along with a school attendance certificate, bank account details and a proof of residence.

Non-resident foreign students remain under their parents’ social security scheme until the age of 20. From ages 20 to 26, they must contact the CPAM (Sickness Health Insurance Primary Fund) and present a school attendance certificate, to benefit from a universal health coverage (+complementary health insurance).

Beyond the age of 26, students are required to take out a private insurance policy or they will ask for dispensations to the above mentioned institutions.
